Even I didn't know where I was going with this. I looped aned wove a sort of fence together and then stitched the circular "flowers" onto it.
Yay, I always wanted to be an artist.
Frank Lloyd Wright's influence is clearly evident in these Wall Circles and Fences, n'est-ce pas? I can't imagine another medium that would be able to create these really pretty fantastic looped and rolled fabrications. Glass, wood, ceramic and even metal would have to be further embellished with paint to achieve the effects of the fabrics in use here. Thank goodness for the wire inside that keeps it all together (and a little sewing!)
Notice also how the saturated colors are further energized by stripes and dots and other prints. Even Kaffe Fassettcan be spotted if you look carefully. Metallic fabrics and silk dupioni add to the textural interest.
