Ficklesticks upcycle Easter Baskets, Create Frogs and Bunnies

Upon return from  the QSC show in Oklahoma City,  I am working hard on making some clothing closures this week: frogs, buttons, twist-ties and other stuff.I've made a dragonfly frog, a cherry one, and some more traditional looking ones. I've also made some double buttonhole curliques, ball buttons and posy buttons. I need to have some great samples for all these sewing expos I am going to this spring!

To amuse myself, I have been decorating Easter baskets...

 

 OK, this one wasn't exactly an Easter basket to begin with, but with a handle, some cute rosebuds and daisies and such, and the addition of a HANDLE, it becomes one.  I filled it with shredded junk mail and the Easter bunny laid some eggs he found at Goodwill, too

This basket is now serving as my 'in basket' at my desk, without the shredded junk mail and fabric scraps. The posies are made by twisting the ficklesticks around the smallest straw in the Turn it All. Here's a bonafide EASTER basket, spelled out in Ficklesticks and hung from the handle with sprung paperclips. The bunny is a Ficklesticks stickfigure too. I think he probably would look better with a face.. This was decorated with a green wooden Christmas tree, so I guess it is really a Christmas basket? Cherries (or rosebuds depending how you look at it) decorate the original double handles, but then I added a Ficklesticks handle too. Then I made a huge Ficklesticks basket and filled it with eggs.
